John Thackara & Bas van Abel

John Thackara
Mister John Thackara has a different vision when it comes to 'Opening things'. He stands for the sustainability of a product. This is what he wants to say to all the 'Open designers'. I like his way of thinking that it is important to think about the surtain sustainability of a product and of material that will be used by designers. He wants to make the designers aware of surtain things before they develope a new product, or by opening things. Designers should be aware of the industrie and the culture systems.
Bas van Abel
In the society in which we live today is the manufacture and use of products shifted to the edges of our cities or even other continents . First, this took place in the local area . As a result, a number of questions . One of them is the following. How can we expect people to understand these complexities ? And are we actively working on it , how do we make people feel ownership and how they can take responsibility ? An active owner of an object is involved in the process of creation, production and adaptation . In the "openness " of a product / object is not just to design it. It's also about the organizational and sometimes political context in which the product is made . It is the intangible systems and processes behind a product . This is called 'dark matter' . In open products is about to bring out the 'dark matter' and to understand. This is done at the fair phone . Here they tried to tell a story about the telephone. Doing this creates a dialogue between all parties involved , the 'dark matter' is brought to the surface . So we can figure out what is needed to change the phone which is a produced our system.
